  3. May 30,  · Bob Dylan: Oh Mercy Mobile Fidelity vinyl + SACD. I will be getting both, as I find Oh Mercy to be top shelf Dylan and think it is one of the best if not the best sounding Dylan album of all time. Joey I will get an MFSL sacd and maybe a vinyl but I do wish they would do some more titles that were not in the s 15 album sacd box.
  4. To me "Oh Mercy" is certainly the best album from that time but not a come back album. The major reason why "Oh Mercy" is so good is because of its producer Daniel Lanois. 8 years later Lanoius and Dylan would team up once again and make the Grammy award winning "Time Out Of Mind" album/5().
  5. Apr 20,  · Oh Mercy is singer-songwriter Bob Dylan’s 26th studio album, released by Columbia Records in September Produced by Daniel Lanois, it was hailed by critics as a triumph for Dylan, after a string of weaker-reviewed albums. Oh Mercy gave Dylan his best chart showing in years reaching #30 on the Billboard charts in the US and #6 in the UK.

  7. Nov 05,  · The "Oh Mercy" SACD sounds very, very good to me. The album has a bit of that late 80's production sound to it, & nothing's gonna get rid of that. The SACD beats the original Columbia CD as far as I'm concerned, & these are your only 2 options as far as I know, unless you take the vinyl route.
  8. Dylan’s lyric style on Oh Mercy — a plain-spoken directness with rich folkloric and Biblical shadings — finds an ideal setting in the dark, open textures of Lanois’s sonic weave.
